Origins of the German Miniature Schnauzer in German Schnauzer History

In German Schnauzer history, the earliest Schnauzers appeared in the 15th and 16th centuries, working on farms and in towns across Germany. The breed’s name comes from the German word “schnauze”, meaning snout or muzzle, a clear reference to their iconic bearded face.
