At Von Baron Schnauzers, our girls are affectionately known as our Breeding Cowgirls. As a Texas breeder, we embrace the values that define a true cowgirl—strength, loyalty, heart, integrity, and an unwavering work ethic. Those same qualities are reflected in each of our females, who are far more than breeding dogs. They are cherished family members, loyal companions, and the heart of our breeding program.
Every exceptional puppy begins with an exceptional mother. That’s why each of our Breeding Cowgirls is carefully selected for outstanding health, temperament, structure, intelligence, and breed type. Before joining our breeding program, every female undergoes Embark DNA testing and earns OFA certifications for heart and eye health, ensuring she meets the high standards we believe every responsible breeder should uphold.
Our girls spend their days playing, exploring, receiving individualized care, and living as beloved members of our family long before they ever become mothers. When the time is right, they raise their puppies with the same gentle, nurturing, and devoted nature that makes them so special.
To us, the title “Breeding Cowgirl” is about much more than producing puppies. It is our way of honoring the remarkable females who represent generations of thoughtful planning and responsible breeding. Kenzie – A gorgeous liver with heavy roaning. She is full of energy and loves to run and play. She enjoys playing fetch. She enjoys snuggling on the couch. She is an excellent mother and her babies come first. She is very gentle, but also an excellent watch dog. She greets strangers as if she has always known them. She had her first litter May 2024. Her puppies are in high demand due to her gorgeous eyes.

Kai is our next generation out of Kenzie and Denali. She will be taking the place of Kenzie when she retires in 2026. She is an incredible red sable (wheaten) mega coated. She loves to run in the backyard and is quite the athlete. She is confident, extremely intelligent and has already mastered the sit and down command. She will be ready to produce gorgeous red colored babies for us in late 2026.
Kai – 14 lb red sable with green eyes. . AKC, Embark health DNA tested and OFA certified heart and eyes, as well as many other OFA certifications. Kai is the daughter of Kenzie. We can’t wait to see what gorgeous puppies she will produce in 2026.

Flair is our next generation from Bettie and Dixon. She is a gorgeous mega coated liver pepper parti and the spitting image of her dad, Dixon. She loves to play fetch with her favorite bone shaped stuffed toy. She has a silly personality and is cautious, but confident with strangers. She is very sweet just like her parents. She produces stunning puppies and there is usually a waiting list.

Mirage is our next generation out of Kenzie and Rusty. She will be taking the place of Kenzie when she retires in 2026. She is an incredible red sable mega coated. She loves to run in the backyard. She is very smart and has already mastered the sit command. She is curious and watches everything. She loves to play with her big sister, Kai. Her coat is amazing that changes in the sun, hence the name, Mirage.
Mirage – Will be around 13 pounds full grown. Beautiful red sable. This little girl has gorgeous green eyes. She carries for all colors. AKC, Embark health DNA tested. OFA certification for heart will be done when she is 1 year old. She hold many OFA certifications already, We are excited to add Mirage to our program and can’t wait to see puppies in 2027.

Our breeding cowgirls live happy, enriched lives filled with playtime, outdoor exploration, and plenty of one-on-one attention. They are never treated as kennel dogs — they are beloved family members first and foremost. This kind of environment creates confident, secure females who naturally pass their calm and loving nature on to their puppies.
We take great pride in giving each of our girls the time they need to mature before becoming mothers. A well-balanced Schnauzer female develops both physically and emotionally over time, and we never rush that process. By allowing our cowgirls to grow into healthy, confident adults, they are better prepared to raise strong, thriving litters. This patience and dedication is part of the reason Von Baron puppies are known for their stable temperaments, playful personalities, and affectionate nature.
Motherhood also comes naturally to our girls. Miniature Schnauzers are known for being attentive and nurturing mothers, and our cowgirls embrace this role with remarkable devotion. They carefully watch over their puppies, teaching them early lessons in communication, boundaries, and confidence. During these early weeks, puppies learn critical social skills directly from their mother, which helps shape their future behavior and adaptability in their new homes.
Our program also focuses heavily on early enrichment and positive experiences for both mothers and puppies. Because our girls are calm, trusting, and deeply bonded with our family, their puppies are exposed to gentle handling, everyday household sounds, and positive human interaction from the very beginning. This early foundation helps create puppies who are curious, resilient, and well adjusted.
Another important part of our breeding philosophy is responsibility and respect for our dogs’ lives beyond breeding. Our cowgirls are not bred continuously, and they are given ample time to rest and enjoy being simply cherished pets between litters. When their breeding career is complete, they remain treasured members of our family or are carefully placed in loving retirement homes where they can continue living the comfortable life they deserve.
